Finaliste du concours architectural, 2018

A finalist proposal in the architectural competition for the future Vaudreuil-Dorion municipal hub, held in 2019, the program aimed to develop a large-scale project bringing together city hall, the library, a public square and the aquatic complex on a site near the Vaudreuil train station. As part of the team, and in close collaboration with the architects, civiliti developed a proposal for a landscape infrastructure that addresses both the territorial scale and that of the building, where nature and the citizen meet.

From the heart of the village, new links make the civic center a destination in the city. The landscape project thus takes on the dimension of a civic infrastructure, affirming the project’s institutional and civic status. On a closer scale, the new topography supports an undulating planted esplanade and places to experience nature and new biodiversity. The variety of public spaces invites a wide range of events, from a large-scale citizens’ meeting on the library forecourt to the discovery of plants in the themed gardens. The precious site of this landscape is the inner courtyard of the architectural complex, an Eden framed and animated by the three new institutions.
