Imagine a living laboratory where art expresses itself in a spirit of continuous transformation. At this bustling urban destination, art and cultural events renew each season, invading all public and private realms and reinventing the encounters of arts and citizenry.
The present Design Guidelines Toolkit contributes to making the Montmorency sector a must-see destination by highlighting Laval’s cultural vitality. By conceptualizing and visually representing a cultural vision, entitled Métamorphoses créatives, it aims to define the design criteria and key features to be considered in creating the desired neighborhood ambiance.
Developed by the Division of art and culture of the Culture, leisure, sport and social development department, and with the collaboration of the urban planning, communications and marketing, building management, parks and public spaces, and other City of Laval departments, this tool is enriched by the contributions of the many stakeholders involved in Laval’s development.
From now on, the Montmorency area will be alive and kicking with the citizens who make up the urban and cultural experience. Artistic and design interventions enrich the living environment, mark the territory with creativity and establish a dialogue between the city and nature, between people and culture.
