civiliti is a Montreal firm specializing in urban and landscaping projects with a high public content.

Since its founding in 2001, the firm has centred its practice on the development of urban landscapes, with the goal of forging and strengthening the identity of the city. A strong proponent of the idea that public space is essential to building community , civiliti believes that the form we give to public spaces has the potential to imbue the land with a long-lasting spirit of togetherness. Grounded in recognized contemporary approaches, civiliti’s practice is focused on reflection and a holistic view of public space design.

A graduate of the Master of Landscape Architecture program at Université de Montréal (2020), Cynthia Dostie Yeh-Szu-Jou also holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from Université du Québec à Montréal (2017). The complementary nature of her training enables her to think about regional planning from a variety of perspectives, such as the importance of being immersed in place in order to understand the issues and improve people’s living environment. Through her keen interest in the design of public spaces and the enhancement of landscapes and their intrinsic character, she strives to bring a sensitive eye to her practice. Cynthia joined the civiliti team in 2021 as a junior landscape architect.
